MOUNTAIN OF A MAN PINOT NOIR
{OROGENY} 2005 Pinot Noir, Sonoma County Green Valley
Risqué can’t help but think of men with every bottle of wine… even without a bottle of wine! And especially a mountain of a man wine like {OROGENY} 2005 Pinot Noir, Sonoma County Green Valley. The Greek man root for {OROGENY} is ORO – Mountain and GENY – Origin… thus, the geologic term describing the episode that creates upward man thrusts in the earths crust. Upward man thrust are responsible for many good things including the Green Valley on the edge of the Russian River in Sonoma County and producing the unique environ capable of yielding such sumptuous Pinot.
This Pinot Noir shows off a bright sparkling ruby red color. The bouquet blossoms generously with huge bright but concentrated fruit, rich raspberry, luscious black cherry, juicy pomegranate and a wonderful candied toasted oakey toffee. Although this prodigy opens “hot” in the mouth… it quickly surrenders a palate of more focused juicy black cherry, bright raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. The lush, mouth-filling fruit is supple with velvety tannins flaunting sophisticated toasted oak, rich cocoa and vanilla in the long, velvety and pronounced climax of this coveted liquid.
One simply cannot ignore this succulent man pinot noir and Risqué loves the {O} in the middle of the label as he believes every man bottle ought to involve an {O}!
